Bio
At an introductory drawing class in Calgary in 1995 Alyson began her exploration into the world of art. Her art education continued with formal drawing classes at the Alberta College of Art and Design and numerous watercolour workshops with accomplished international artists including Karlyn Holman, Diane Maxey and Elsie Thorson.
Alyson's delicate style and impressionistic designs attract people to her work. For her, the beauty of the medium is the freshness of the translucent colour and she delights in a successful painting that “glows”. She aspires to evoke in her viewers an appreciation for simplicity and for the splendour and fragility of the natural world.
Alyson works from her home studio in White Rock. She is a member of the White Rock District Art Council, North Sound Artisans and the Westcoast Calligraphy Society. She is a graduate of the University of Calgary and is employed part time with the Vancouver Park Board.
Noteworthy clients include BC Cancer Foundation, St. John Ambulance in Alberta, and The Burrowing Owl Conservation Society of BC.
